Fire hit refinery belong to South Korea’s S-Oil

According to media reports, a fire broke out at one of the pipelines located at the No.2 refinery that belongs to S-Oil in Ulsan, South Korea at 2.45 PM on 23 February 2024.

According to media reports, a fire broke out at one of the pipelines located at the No.2 refinery that belongs to S-Oil in Ulsan, South Korea at 2.45 PM on 23 February 2024. The fire was distinguished in 3 hours without any casualties. 

The No. 2 refinery houses three crude distillate units (CDU). The incident occurred at the No. 3 CDU with the capacity to process 250,000 barrels of crude oil per day. 

By-products of CDU including naphtha, kerosene, and diesel. 

At the time of this report, it is unsure if the incident impacted the operations at the 405,000 tons/year downstream PP plants.
