Saudi’s Petro Rabigh restarted the PP plant following more than two months of offline

Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co (Petro Rabigh) has successfully restarted its PP plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia and is currently ramping up operating rates, according to market sources. 

The PP plant consists of two production lines that produce 700,000 tons/year was taken offline at the beginning of January 2024 following unspecified issues at the upstream HOFCC cracking unit that disrupted the feedstocks supply.

In the meantime, the No.2 LLDPE unit with an annual output of 350,000 tons/year is currently undergoing scheduled turnarounds.
