Vietnam’s Nghi Son restarted the PP plant earlier than expected

Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical (NSRP) successfully restarted its PP plant on 10 May 2024 in the Thanh Hoa Province, Northern Vietnam, and is currently ramping up operating rates, according to market sources.

The PP plant has an annual output of 370,000 tons/year was taken offline after abrupt mechanical issues forced the company to shut its complex on 06 May 2024 for immediate repairment.

The producer managed to bring the unit online earlier than the initial plan of one week offline, which offered the regional market some relief as a major Thailand producer was hit with force majeure that could curtail availability.
