UAE’s Borouge to phase out the production of several PE grades
According to market sources, Borouge – a joint venture of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and Borealis AG is planning to suspend the production of several PE grades in 2021 in order to focus on other core products.

A total five grades are affected by the decision, mostly HDPE:

- 2,300,000 tons/year of PE
- 1,760,000 tons/year of PP
- 350,000 tons/year of LDPE that support the XLPE compounding plant
