Corona to pilot 100 percent plastic-free six-pack ring

The flagship beer brand Corona has announced a pilot program to scrap the use of plastic ring in its six-can pack. The program is set to kick-start in 2019 in Mexico – the home market for Corona and followed by the UK.

Corona said that it would be testing new packaging rings that made from plant-based biodegradable fibers and a mix of by-product waste and compostable materials. The new packaging can be easily broken down into organic material and cause no harm to wildlife.
