India’s Reliance and UAE’s ADNOC singed agreement to build EDC plant

In a media release on 10 December 2019, India’s largest petrochemical producer – Reliance Industries informed that it has signed a framework agreement with The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to explore the development of an Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) facility in Ruwais, UAE. 

There has not been any further detailed disclosed at the time of this report pertaining to the time-line, costs, and capacity of the project.

However, the agreement outlined that ADNOC would supply ethylene to the project while Reliance would manage the operation and distribution of the output. India market is naturally the target market for the project given its huge growth potential.

EDC is a major component in producing PVC.
