According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), manufacturing activities in China quickened in the month of June 2020 compared to the previous month, reaching 50.9.

The positive data is a result of the government’s effort in alleviating the economy from the negative impact of the COVID-19 by consistently easing monetary policies.

However, the Chinese manufacturing sector is servicing the domestic demand, reflected in the stronger new order gauge at 51.4 compared to 50.9 in May. Meanwhile, export orders remain low at 42.6, well below the 50-point benchmark given the worsening pandemic elsewhere.
