South Korea's SKGC to shut PP, PE plants for maintenance

According to market sources, SK Global Chemicals Co Ltd (SKGC) is planning to shut both its upstream and downstream plants for scheduled turnaround by mid of October 2020.

Based in Ulsan, South Korea, the naphtha cracker is able to produce 680,000 tons/year of ethylene and 340,000 tons/year of propylene. Besides, the company also owns a 190,000 tons/year HDPE plant, 200,000 tons/year LLDPE/HDPE swing plant and two PP plants with combined capacity of 380,000 tons/year. All plants are expected to remain off-stream for 40 days.
