China to lower import duties for 883 products, including polyolefins
The Chinese government announced the reduction of import duties on 883 products starting 1 January 2020 to satisfy domestic demand and stimulate local economy. These products would enjoy tariffs of 3% instead of the previously 6.5%.
Some of the petrochemical products including electrical grade homo-PP and PE cargoes priced above the $3800/ton CFR China. As such, the development is not expected to impact the commodity PP and PE market.
