Malaysia’s Lotte Chemical Titan shuts PP line on cracker issue

It is reported that Lotte Chemical Titan has taken its No. 2 PP line in Pasir Gudang, Johor off-stream on 14 January 2021 following an issue at the upstream cracker that disrupts the propylene supply. 

The No. 2 PP unit has an annual output of 274,000 tons/year is expected to remain shut for four weeks. 

A source close to the producer informed that the fluidized naphtha cracker (No. 2 naphtha cracker) is facing technical difficulties and currently operating at a lower rate. The cracker produces 522,000 tons/year of ethylene and 360,000 tons/year of propylene.
